Today, I received a request from an author to read his book. And I just want to ponder on that for a moment. Most of the requests I get these days are from my chillen, asking for the random things they think they want or need. It does get tiring when those are the only requests I receive. Which is why I absolutely adore when I get a request to read a book.
By no means whatsoever is this the first request I’ve received, but I still get thrilled when I receive that request. I just think to myself about how many readers that are on GoodReads or have their own blog. But that author chose to send me a message. Obviously I’m not the only reader they have sent the request to, but I really enjoy being a part of that group of lucky readers. Thank you to those authors!!!
I know there are plenty of reviewers that do not like it when an author sends them a message request to read their book. And I get that, but maybe it’s because I’m still fairly new and I’ll eventually start turning down authors. But for now, those requests seriously make me smile and each time I get one, I gush to my husband who smiles politely and nods his head. It’s okay, he doesn’t have to agree, but he understands that this is a passion of mine. Writing in general, but reviewing books and just going with my feelings?!?! I love it!!!
So I know I will most likely not be able to always have time to agree to read and review everything I receive. But that day is not today and I say, yes!!!! I want to read all of the things!!!
