This one was such a quick read for me!! I loved it and all the hilarious antics these kids got up to!! Robin and his friends go on a road trip together to some pretty cool places. We get to encounter orangutans, monkeys, and some awesome sounding food!!
This is a light, outlandish story and I found it hilarious. The kids, especially Charlie, are so dramatic about everything, which makes the situations they run into even funnier! I did roll my eyes at their extravagant displays of wealth, but that was part of why I enjoyed this so much.
If grammatical errors are a no go for you, stay away from this one as it’s written from the point of view of a middle schooler. It didn’t bother me, but I know some readers just can’t stand it.
Anyway, I also thought the drawings were so cute!! They were like drawings of the moment as imagined by Robin. Very well drawn and entertaining!
I did notice that they didn’t mention the shark from the first book so I was a little sad about that. I mean, if a rampaging shark was trying to ruin my vacation, I’d remember and talk about it for years!!! Just saying.
Otherwise, I recommend this to middle grade lovers who like light, funny reads.
Thanks so much to the author, Malcolm Mejin, for the opportunity to read this for my honest and unbiased opinion.
