Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor

Okay, I’m ready to write this review after letting this marinate for a few days… well no, I’m not really ready. But I don’t want to put off writing the review for too long or else I may forget what I want to say. Which is, this book is so amazing and I absolutely love it!!!! LOVE!!!!!

It was also super intense and sad. **** Mild Spoilers **** It breaks my heart that Karou is apart from Akiva. I just know they are soulmates and nothing could convince me otherwise. And Akiva is in such pain the whole book!!! Actually, everyone is in a terrible amount of pain. **** Mild Spoilers Over **** So I guess the title really fits.

I love learning more about Akiva’s side of things and what happens to him separate from Karou. The other wonderful thing is having Zuzana and Mik play much bigger roles in this story. Their love for each other is a reason to fall in love with this book, but there are so many other reasons too.

It may be intense and there is indeed a lot of bloodshed and you will most likely cry. I know I did. But when it’s all said and done, you’re left with hope. And isn’t that all that really matters?? The hope of a better world, which is what Karou and Akiva really wanted from the beginning. Oh and I think the way it ended was amazing and hit me like a ton of bricks. I was like, noooooo!!!! But then I was like Muah Ha Ha Ha!!!! YES!!!!

Anyway, I cannot wait until I have time to read the last book in the series. This amazing, wonderful, everything series!!!! I’m so glad I splurged on the hardback copies!!! 😍😍😍
